Exposure 2010

Ypsilanti, Mich-Eastern Michigan University students had their 12th annual Exposure Runway Show and Crossing Lines Design Expo on Friday April 16, 2010 in the Quirk Theatre Building.
Exposure 2010 is an annual event that utilizes the skills and talents of Eastern Michigan University students and faculty members from five different programs and two colleges. They are Apparel Textiles and Merchandising, Communication and Theatre, Communication Technology, Hospitality and Restaurant Management,Simulation and Gaming.
The students in these class work together to design, develop and produce this event beginning in January . The concept, the graphics, the PR, the funding, the recruitment of designers, models, and the additional crew to help host and run the are planned and managed by the students.
Under the tutelage of assistant professor Cathryn Amidie, the first annual Crossing Lines Design Expo is a companion event that was thought of and designed and produced by students and faculty within the Communication and Theatre Department, and an exhibition was created as a demonstration of the quality, and variety of excellent design work that is used and practiced at EMU.
At the beginning of the show we get our three guest designers Exotic City Shoes and Apparel where Ricco Seatt's who over a period of three years has gradually set themselves apart from other retail stores. they sale both clothing and shoes off the rack, they specialize in designing custom-made shoes for men, women, and children.

Sonia Rykiel for H&M Spring 2010 Collection

Ypsilanti Mich - For 40 years Sonia Rykiel has made the fashion world envious of the it-girls who were her chic stripes, and soft knits a staple in any models wardrobe.
 This year that stake has moved even higher as Rykiel works alongside her daughter Nathalie the new guest artists creating a new Spring 2010 Collection at H&M.  Like her predecessors, Karl Lagerfeld and Commes des Garcons', Rykiel know as the "Queen of Knits"celebrated her 40th year of design in 2008.
Unlike her predecessors the house of Rykiel builds on two foundations knits and stripes which transcended in the Sonia Rykiel pour collection for H&M. The pour collection for H&M dropped in February 20 2010 to 250 stores worldwide is full of iconic Rykiel pieces: striped shirts, light jackets, summery dresses, and the quintessentially Parisian accessory the black beret.

Live Life Royal Style collection

Ypsilanti, Mich-Latoya Luke a  20 year-old college student at Washtenaw Community College launched her fashion line Live Life Royal Style in May.
Luke who is majoring in Social Work began designing clothes in 2007 after her freshman year as a hobby which began to grow into a concept called LLRS. LLRS is based off of the ideas that clothes should be cheap and affordable but must always represent you and your indviduality.
Luke bases her inspirations from her natural surrounding, to customers request, to even her own sense of style.

12th Annual 2010 Exposure Runway Show

Ypsilanti, Mich-Eastern Michigan University students are putting on their 12th annual Fashion Expo in Quirk theatre at 7:00pm tonight, I will be tweeting,and videotaping the event so please follow my twitter post.
Eastern Michigan University’s Apparel and Textiles and Merchandising department students under the tutelage of assistant professor Cathryn Amidei is putting on their 12th annual Fashion show.
The 2010 Exposure Runway show, is an annual event put on by student in the class to gain experience in promoting and producing a quality show. In order for the show to run smoothly student committees were created in hospitality, production, set and stage design, and model coordination.
